Cookie policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
Cookies and similar technologies (such as local and session storage) store small pieces of information on your device. Under UK law (PECR) we may use storage that is strictly necessary for a service you request without consent; anything else needs your consent first.
What we use
We currently use no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Everything below is strictly necessary or remembers a choice you made, so no consent banner is shown.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
Sign-in session (key beginning sb-) | First-party local storage | Keeps you signed in securely | Until you sign out or the session expires |
sidebar_state | First-party cookie | Remembers whether you collapsed the side menu | 7 days |
| Page recovery marker | First-party session storage | Stops the page reloading repeatedly if an update fails to download | This browser session |
| Scroll position | First-party session storage | Returns you to your place when you go back | This browser session |
| Payment checkout cookies | Third-party, set by our secure payment processor | Fraud prevention and secure payment, only when you open checkout or the billing portal | Set by the processor; see the notice shown in checkout |
When pages load, our font delivery provider receives your IP address to send typefaces; it does not need cookies for this.
Optional cookies and consent
If we ever add non-essential cookies (for example analytics), they will stay off until you accept them, with an equally easy option to reject and a permanent way to change your mind.
Managing storage
You can delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Removing the sign-in session will sign you out.
